National Trails Day 5K at High Bridge Trail State Park

High Bridge Trail State Park

Join in on the fun in celebrating National Trails Day by participating in the National Trails Day 5K race, Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 8 a.m. on the historic High Bridge Trail. The park is a rail to trail conversion and is a wide, level surface with virtually no grade. The 5k course is out and back across the historic High Bridge. This event benefits Friends of the High Bridge Trail and is sponsored by Centra Southside Community Hospital, a great opportunity to get together with friends and family! Start/Finish Location: 
Aspen Hill Road (Rt. 601), Rice, VA 23966. $4.00 PARKING AT RACE SITE.
Directions: located just 3 miles from downtown Farmville, follow Rt. 460 to Aspen Hill Road, follow Aspen Hill Road 1.7 miles crossing the High Bridge Trail. Camp Paradise Road is on the LEFT and clearly marked as the entrance to High Bridge Trail State Park. GPS: Aspen Hill Road (Rt. 601), Rice, VA 23966

REGISTRATION:
Online registration $25 (until 5/18), $30 (until 5/31), Packet Pickup & Race Day ($35).

Pre Race Packet Pickup: 
Friday, June 1, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Virginia’s Heartland Regional Visitor Center, 121 E. Third Street, Farmville, VA  23901 (434) 392-1482 || Registration is available at Packet Pickup ($35.00).

Packet Pickup & Race Day Registration: 
Race Day registration is available for $35. Runners & Walkers can register at the Start/Finish beginning at 7 a.m., Camp Paradise Road High Bridge Trail Access 
Directions:  located just 3 miles from downtown Farmville, follow Rt. 460 to Aspen Hill Road, follow Aspen Hill Road 1.7 miles crossing the High Bridge Trail. Camp Paradise Road is on the LEFT and clearly marked as the entrance to High Bridge Trail State Park. GPS:  Aspen Hill Road (Rt. 601), Rice, VA 23966. Due to the width of the path across the bridge, there will be no accommodation for strollers and pets.

CUSTOM FINISHER MEDALS INSTEAD OF T-SHIRTS.
Each finisher will receive a unique finisher medal for their race day efforts.

Awards:
Presented to the top 3 overall male and female finishers and top 3 finishers in each age category. 
The top overall male and female finisher will each receive a free weekend cabin stay in a Virginia State Park. 
Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.

Participation is capped at 200 runners.

Timing and scoring of the race will be done by Riverside Runners, Lynchburg, VA.
