Farmville’s New Boutique Hotel
Farmville just became trendier than ever with the recent opening of the new Hotel Weyanoke – which is actually a historic property with a storied past, newly renovated.
The Weyanoke Hotel first opened in 1925. As Farmville Mayor David Whitus recounted at the hotel’s recent grand re-opening, “when the original hotel opened, with train service east and west, Farmville became known as a convention center, and between 1926 and 1928, it hosted 10 statewide conventions.”
Located in the heart of Downtown Farmville, right across the street from the Longwood University campus, the Hotel Weyanoke features 70 large, elegant guest rooms, two restaurants, Sassafras coffee shop and Catbird, the areas first rooftop bar.
Magnificently filling the trendy boutique hotel niche, Hotel Weyanoke is a perfect location from which to explore the area, whether you’re antiquing, furniture shopping at Green Front, visiting Longwood University or Hampden-Sydney College, or checking out the iconic High Bridge, a rails-to-trails converted bridge that spans the Appomattox River and features one of the most scenic views the state has to offer.
In fact, you can rent a bike in the lobby, jump on the High Bridge Trail just a few blocks over, and you’re on your way!
