June 18, 2022. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This Juneteenth eve, celebrate the rich Black history found at Twin Lakes. Activities will be offered throughout the day that honor and explore the contributions of Black individuals and families to what is now Twin Lakes State Park:

11 a.m. – Goodwin Lake Historical Hike
Twin Lakes’ rich Black history began long, long before the civil rights movement of the 1960s. Witness the physical evidence of this history on this one-mile walk around Goodwin Lake. While this trail is rated easy, it is not appropriate for strollers and those with severe mobility issues.

All Day – Record Your Own Oral History
One of the best ways to learn about the past is to talk to those who have lived through it. All ages are welcome to participate in this opportunity to record your very own experience of Twin Lakes State Park for future generations.

All Day – Junior Rangers Activity Booklet
Request a free Junior Rangers Booklet, with fun activities that will teach kids about different aspects of Twin Lakes State Park. Turning in this booklet to the Park Office will allow you to receive a patch that is a reproduction of the historic one worn by rangers when the park opened in 1950. Available while supplies last.
