Join us at the Visitor Center at Sailor’s Creek Battlefield State Park on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., for an engaging program exploring the pivotal events of the Appomattox Campaign, the final campaign in the eastern theater of the Civil War.
Led by a knowledgeable park ranger, this program will provide an overview of the Appomattox Campaign, highlighting the critical moments that led to General Robert E. Lee’s retreat, from the break through at Petersburg to the final shots at Appomattox Courthouse.
Program Highlights:
- A strategic overview of the campaign and its importance in the closing days of American Civil War.
- Stories of the individuals, both commanding generals and ordinary soldiers who shaped the campaign.
- Insights into the challenges faced by Confederate and Union forces during this critical period.
