We open our 26th Season on June 14th with Dreamworks’ Shrek (Rated PG, 2001).
We also have another special attraction that evening: The Heart of Virginia Community Band (affiliated with the Longwood University Music Department and the Longwood Center for Community Music) will be joining us again to perform a selection of cinema-inspired music. Their musical performance will begin at 7:30pm and conclude shortly before our regular announcements and trivia (around 8:15pm).
Bring your blankets and bag chairs and spend an evening in Downtown Farmville under the stars at Crute Stage, located on the corner of Main & Fourth Streets. The movie will begin at dusk. Parking is available on Main Street and in the municipal parking lot behind the court house. This is a free event, and popcorn, candy, and drinks will be available for purchase. There is a “No Pets” policy at our events. In the event of rain, the film will be shown the following evening (Saturday) at dusk. This season’s remaining films are Mamma Mia! (July 11th) and Holes (August 8th).
Stars Under the Stars is made possible by support from Central Virginia Regional Library, Pippy’s Dog House, Putney Mechanical Company, Red Door 104, and community volunteers. Donations provided by Lib’s Place. Special thanks to the Town of Farmville.
Stars Under the Stars is committed to enhancing our home at Crute Stage and through the years has donated permanent outdoor speakers, audio/visual equipment, backstage storage areas, additional power and lights, and restroom facilities. We are grateful to be a part of the fabric of Downtown Farmville!
