Taught by experienced chess player Robert Hyde, and with the help of assistant Annie Hyde, this class will give total beginners a solid foundation of the game of chess, from setting up the board to understanding checkmate. For those who already know the basics, we’ll dive right into advanced strategies, including openings and checkmate techniques. Chess related art projects will be offered during the day, and each can be taken home to enjoy, as well. Tournament boards and pieces will be provided for the class.
*We work hard and play hard during our summer camps! Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes as we will go outside to eat and run around on the lawn next door. Also, please be sure to bring a water bottle, snack and lunch each day. Refrigeration is available.
15% sibling discount will be offered when registering multiple children for the same camp.
