Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day our little park that’s close to home. Explore your world with self- guided activities such as our Junior Ranger brochure, our bird watching brochure or our Aquatic Trail brochure, all available at the Park Office.
At 1 p.m. get creative with nature arts at the Legacy Wayside where a park ranger will have a variety of natural materials, paper, glue and coloring pens available while supplies last.
About National Kids to Parks Day
Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
