Join us for a guided hike that explores the fighting at the Harper Farm, one of the major actions that shaped the events of April 6, 1865. This walk gives visitors the chance to experience the landscape as the soldiers saw it and to understand how the ground influenced the movements, decisions, and intensity of the battle.
Visitors should meet at the Visitor Center at the scheduled program time. After a brief orientation, the ranger will lead the walk along the Pickett Trail to examine the action that unfolded there. Participants are encouraged to wear walking shoes, bring water, and dress for changing spring conditions. The outdoor route includes uneven terrain and natural surfaces.
In the event of inclement weather, portions of this program may be altered or canceled. For questions, please call the Visitor Center at 804-561-7510.
