We open our 28th Season on June 12th with Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo (Rated G, 2003).

We also have another special attraction that evening: The Heart of Virginia Community Band (affiliated with the Longwood University Music Department and the Longwood Center for Community Music) will be joining us again to perform a selection of cinema-inspired music. Their musical performance will begin at 7:30pm and conclude shortly before our regular announcements and trivia (around 8:15pm).

Bring your blankets and bag chairs and spend an evening in Downtown Farmville under the stars at Crute Stage, located on the corner of Main & Fourth Streets. The movie will begin at dusk. Parking is available on Main Street and in the municipal parking lot behind the court house. This is a free event, and popcorn, candy, and drinks will be available for purchase. There is a “No Pets” policy at our events. In the event of rain, the film will be shown the following evening (Saturday) at dusk. To celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial, the season’s remaining films are National Treasure (July 10th) and 1776 (August 14th).

Stars Under the Stars is made possible by support from Central Virginia Regional Library, Putney Mechanical Company, Red Door 104, and Three Roads Brewing. Donations provided by Lib’s Place. Special thanks to the Town of Farmville and our community volunteers.

Stars Under the Stars is committed to enhancing our home at Crute Stage and through the years has donated permanent outdoor speakers, audio/visual equipment, backstage storage areas, additional power and lights, and restroom facilities. We are grateful to be a part of the fabric of Downtown Farmville!
