The ability of the felting process to shrink wool makes it very unique, and with enough coaxing, it will take the shape of any object it’s wrapped around. The results are stunning; a perfectly seamless felted covering.
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to create TWO entirely unique felted gourd ornaments. First, you will be led through the steps to encapsulate two small gourds using a wet felting method. When that process is complete, you’ll learn how to create and finish a gourd-revealing opening. Paints and natural stone embellishments will be available for decorating that visible part of the gourd. Last but not least, finishing techniques, including incorporating more beads and stones, will be taught and used as decorations around the top of the ornament.
You’ll take home two finished ornaments, as personal, colorful and unique as only you can make.
