The woods come alive after dark; come discover why! Bring the whole family for a ‘not-too-spooky’ nighttime adventure as we explore the fascinating world of Virginia’s nocturnal wildlife. Guided by a park ranger, you’ll hike beneath the stars while listening for owls, searching for bats, and learning about the raccoons, opossums, and other mammals that call the forest home after sunset. Through fun stories and the sights and sounds of the nighttime woods, you’ll discover that the dark is full of wonder, not fright!
At the end of the hike, a shuttle will transport participants back to the parking area. The cost is $3 per person (free to those 5 years or younger) and limited to 10 participants per time slot to provide a more personal experience. Advanced registration is required, and fees must be paid at time of reservation. Register by 5 p.m. the day prior at the Discovery Center or over the phone with a credit card by calling 434-408-1587.
