Singer-songwriter Anthony shot to fame after the independent release of his hit single, “Rich Men North of Richmond”, on August 8, 2023. The song became an overnight viral hit after gaining traction on social media. Within days of its release, it soared to the top of streaming and sales charts, debuting at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and making Anthony the first artist to debut at the top of the chart with no prior chart history.
Several of Anthony’s other songs have also impacted streaming charts since August 2023, including five songs making it into the top 10 on iTunes. Among them, “I’ve Got to Get Sober” reached number 3, and “Aint Gotta Dollar” reached number 2, as well as hitting number 1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 list.
