From a vantage point above the Appomattox River’s floodplain, visitors can explore the cosmos from High Bridge with our local Crewe Astronomy Club. Members of this organization provide time and access to their equipment. High Bridge Trail State Park is a day use park, so night programs are a special experience here. You might hear owls, frogs, or chattering insects filling the air around you with sound, and even smell the clean, damp earth below you as you look deep into the universe that you are a part of.
We suggest the use of red-colored filters on all personal lighting. The use of white lights can interrupt visitors’ night-time vision. Parking access to High Bridge for this program will be from the Camp Paradise parking lot.
