Paddling a kayak gives you a new perspective of the world. Paddling safely opens the floodgates to a lifetime of adventures. This 4-hour class will cover the basics of paddling skills including; how to select and fit a PFD, different types of kayaks, planning and safety, and proper paddling strokes. All participants should bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a change of clothing. We will provide all paddles, PFDs, and boats. Space is limited to 10 participants. The cost is $15 per person on top of the $7 per vehicle parking fee. The age requirement is 10+ years old.
Advanced registration is required, and fees must be paid at time of reservation. Register by 5 p.m. the day prior at the Discovery Center or over the phone with a credit card by calling 434-394-0767. Space is limited and spots are available on a first come, first served basis.
